Job Description
Are you an experienced engineer that enjoys working with power generation and propulsion systems?
If so, our team in Baltimore, Maryland is looking for individuals to help support the United States Coast Guard and our Ship Design Group!
As a Journeyman Marine Engineer you will:
+ Work within the Maritime Lifecycle Readiness Division to provide engineering support to the United States Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center.

A week in the life of a Journeyman Marine Engineer:
+ Assist in design, development, and evaluation of the operation of marine vessels, ship machinery, and related equipment, such as propulsion systems & power generation systems.
+ Support the US Coast Guard reviewing third party design modifications and improvements to mechanical systems and components.
+ Perform design reviews, evaluating constructability, helping resolve technical issues, and managing
+ information generated through the design and construction phases.
+ Conduct analyses of propulsion systems and types, lead development of technical data packages and reviews.
+ Conduct trade studies regarding ship configuration.
+ Conduct marine engineering analysis.
+ Create graphical representations of structures and systems.
+ Inspect equipment or systems.
+ Assist in research of advanced engineering designs or applications.
+ Prepare technical reports for internal use.
Job Requirements
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
+ Ability to obtain a secret clearance
At least 3+ years of experience in:
+ Progressively responsible experience in marine specific fields (i.e. propulsion systems, power-generation systems, fluids and hydraulics)

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $125,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
