The Opportunity:
The Journeyman Mechanic will have complete involvement in routine or emergency maintenance as well as corrective, preventive, predictive maintenance and basic care for all mechanical equipment and its related components within a manufacturing industrial environment. The Journeyman Mechanic is expected to have basic electrical knowledge, i.e. the ability to swap out like for like replacement of motors.
How you will impact Smurfit WestRock:
Provides maintenance information by using CMMS.An operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery which includes; motors, servos, pumps, drives, relays, 3 phase power, communication devices, industrial / electronic controls and power transmission systems.Use strong PLC trouble shooting and problem solving ability with practical, mechanical & electrical aptitude.Read and interpret both electrical and mechanical drawings.Maintain production equipment to a reliable level of production through preventative maintenanceTroubleshoot and repair equipment as neededWhat you need to succeed:
The ideal candidate will have mechanical and electrical experience, a familiarity with hydraulics and pneumatics and have basic troubleshooting experience with proven ability of machine repair.2-3 years of Electro-Mechanical Automation System Installation & Troubleshooting Experience Must be computer literate with Microsoft environment.High school diploma or equivalentAbility to work independently in a mature and professional mannerExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work various shifts / overtime / days per weekMilitary training and or Technical School preferredWhat we offer:
