Job Description

​The primary function of this role is to troubleshoot, monitor, adjust, and repair manufacturing equipment and machinery throughout the IG Machine & Fibers Ltd. at the Ashcroft production facility. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the role will maintain production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. This position is part of the IAMAW, Lodge 692 (Union), and as such the successful candidate will be required to join and be subject to the terms and conditions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

WHEN YOU JOIN US, YOU WILL BE:Maintaining smooth operation of machinery and mechanical equipmentTroubleshooting specific industrial equipment by using precise measuring and testing instrumentsDismantling and reassembling of equipment using hand and power toolsCreating hand sketches of assemblies while understanding dimensional drawings and service costingInspecting and assessing wear and remaining useful life of various power transmission componentsFabricating repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipmentUtilizing Maximo or similar computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with Company’s procedures, rules, and regulations

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:Proven experience working in and maintaining a safe work environment with intimate knowledge of LOTO procedures or other relevant safety practicesMinimum of five years maintenance experience in manufacturing environmentMillwright skills, welding and machining experience preferredExcellent working knowledge of appropriate use of hand tools and maintenance equipmentAbility to read and understand detailed repair & instruction manualsMust be able to work with computer-based maintenance softwarePossess superior analytical and troubleshooting skillsMust supply own hand tools appropriate to the equipment and environment

Hours/ Days / Schedule The hours of work will be primarily Wednesday through Saturday {40 hours, day shift}.
