**Description** **Central Mechanical Construction Co.** **Job Title:** Journeyman Mechanical/Sheetmetal **Location:** Manhattan, KS, Junction City, and Topeka, KS Areas **FLSA Status:** Hourly/Non-Exempt **About Us:** As one of the Midwest's premier full-service mechanical contractors, Central Mechanical Construction offers a high standard of working culture with a firm foundation in heating, air conditioning, plumbing, piping, ductwork, and utilities services. **Position Summary:** Seeking a journeyman licensed, skilled, and hard-working mechanical/sheet metal worker with a background in commercial construction. Job site locations include the Manhattan, Junction City, and Topeka, KS areas. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities:** + Work on medical, school, federal, state, and commercial business projects. + Lay out of mechanical systems, supports, or related equipment according to blueprints. + Installation of commercial mechanical systems to include but not limited to: + Packaged rooftop equipment + Central air handling equipment + Exhaust and intake fans, louvers, vents and hoods + Ductwork: low pressure, medium pressure, flex, spiral, galvanized, aluminum, black steel, etc. + Dampers: volume control, fire, smoke, combination, automated, manual, etc. + Kitchen hoods and associated ventilation equipment + Air distribution: grilles and registers for ceiling, wall, floor and duct mounted installations. + Load and unload tools and material. + Maintain assigned tools and issued safety equipment. + Maintain daily communication with your direct supervisor. Take direction from foreman. + Supervise and support helpers on projects as required. + Coordinate subcontractors as required for each project. + Complete as-built drawings at the end of projects. + Accurately record time worked daily and submit timesheet weekly. + Follow all policies as outlined in the company handbook and safety documentation. + Monitor jobsite to ensure a safe work environment and report any safety violations to supervisor. + Supervise and mentor assigned assistants/apprentices/laborers. + Perform other duties as directed by the site foreman or superintendent. + The candidate is responsible for transportation to and from the job sites. **Qualifications:** + Minimum four years’ experience in mechanical trade. Journeyman license preferred. + Position will require a drug screening, clean driving record, and background check--No PRIOR FELONIES + HVAC sheet metal experience in commercial sheet metal installation preferred. + An understanding of mechanical blueprints. + The ability to safely conduct the setting of roof top equipment with cranes, boom truck, etc. + Ability to draw up and order duct and sheet metal fitting from the fabrication shop. + Ability to set up and properly leak test ductwork. + Ability to professionally interact with General Contractors and other trades. + Ability to install quality HVAC work in a timely manner. + Previous use of electrical and manual tools required **Physical Requirements/Job Site Requirements:** + Effectively use all required PPE equipment. + Considerable standing/walking. + Ability to climb and work from ladders, aerial lifts, or scaff + Ability to work in tight spaces or uneven terrain. + Heavy physical effort (lift/carry up to 75 lbs.) + Push/pull or move/lift equipment, supplies. + Manual dexterity and mobility. **Benefits:** + Competitive Pay + Union Pension + Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance (Company paid) + Disability Insurance + Paid Time Off (PTO) – Vacation, Holidays + 401(k) + Cafeteria Plan + Employee Assistance Program + On the job training **Compensation Range:** $29-37, based on experience and license.
