Job Specifics

Location: Enmax Calgary Energy Centre, 114417 68th Street NE Hours: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM Project Duration: October 10, 2024 - October 26, 2024

Roles and Responsibilities 

Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), plasma arc welding (PAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), oxy-acetylene welding (OAW), resistance welding and submerged arc welding (SAW) Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment Operate brazing and soldering equipment Repair worn parts of metal products by welding on extra layers Operate previously set up welding machines such as spot, butt and seam resistance or gas and arc welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts Operate previously set up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal parts or to fill holes, indentations and seams of metal articles with solder Assist with the maintenance and repair of welding, brazing and soldering equipment May adjust welding heads and tooling according to work specifications Mentor and train apprentices Must follow all company policies and procedures including Trotter & Morton’s Health and Safety program Understand and follow company Quality Control Program  Performs other duties as required

Required Skills

Must possess a valid Alberta Journeyperson Certificate with Interprovincial Red Seal in Welding is preferred Valid Drivers License Must have Construction Safety Training System (CSTS), Confined Space, WHIMIS Strong work ethic and positive team attitude Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy Good verbal and written communication skills Results oriented and a team player 

Required Experience

Experience with SMAW/FCAW/MCAW/GMAW welding is essential, other welding experience is an asset Minimum 3 years’ experience in a heavy structural steel welding and fabrication environment
