Description As the Junior Accountant, you will report to and assist the Accounting Manager with day-to-day accounting operations. You’ll play a key role in ensuring smooth financial processes, handling tasks like accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), payroll support, and reconciliations. This role is ideal for someone who is eager to learn, detail-oriented, and passionate about contributing to a mission-driven organization. This is a contract or contract-to-hire position with a non-profit organization in Spokane. Key Responsibilities: + Process and manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions accurately and timely. + Perform account reconciliations, ensuring ledger accuracy and resolving discrepancies promptly. + Support the payroll process, including assisting with timesheet management and data entry. + Assist with preparing financial reports and ensuring compliance with non-profit accounting standards. + Provide general ledger support, including posting journal entries and maintaining financial records. + Collaborate with the Accounting Manager on special projects and ad hoc tasks as needed. Requirements + Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred (or equivalent experience). + 1+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit or mission-driven organization. + Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processes, and reconciliations is essential. + Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel (experience with spreadsheets, formulas, and ledger systems). + Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail. + Excellent interpersonal skills for working collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
