Aviva Canada Inc. has an excellent opportunity in our Aviva Business unit. Our National Broker Commercial Insurance branch is seeking experienced Commercial Lines Auto Underwriter talent. In this position, you will service a substantial portfolio of commercial auto business requiring a demonstrated underwriting ability and a commitment to customer service excellence. You will be involved in the underwriting of auto commercial accounts.

As a Commercial Auto Underwriter you will service a portfolio of auto commercial insurance business requiring a proven underwriting ability and a dedication to customer service perfection. You will be involved in the underwriting of small to mid-sized commercial auto accounts, as well an opportunity to showcase your commercial underwriting knowledge. We are interested in speaking with insightful business minded underwriters. You will champion excellent relationships through daily management of an assigned broker portfolio.

What You’ll Do:

Assess and evaluate risk for new and existing business (IRCA, Fleet, Garage)Assist more junior underwriters with applying corporate underwriting standards and share knowledge and skills with others in the branch.Analyze reports to determine adequate exposure and loss ratingMaintain awareness of market trends, pricing levels and policy form amendmentsNegotiate renewal terms for the retention of businessUtilize loss control and risk management practices in the underwriting process.Respond to inquiries from brokers regarding modification to policy files in a prompt and efficient manner.Work with brokers to develop new business.Develop and maintain excellent broker relationships and management of assigned broker portfolioProvide excellent customer service
