Major Activities
Assist in the building, maintenance and administration of various database systems (e.g., Oracle, SQLServer, Redis, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.). Monitor database performance and identify potential bottlenecks. Implement and maintain database backups and recovery procedures. Participate in on-call rotation to address database incidents and emergencies. Automate routine database tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, GoLang, Bash) and IaC tools like Terraform, Ansible or Chef etcCollaborate with development teams to optimize database queries and schema design. Document database configurations, procedures, and best practices using Atlassian Tools (Confluence, JIRA etc) or Backstage Learn and apply database security best practices Stay up-to-date with the latest database technologies and trends. Contribute to the improvement of database infrastructure and processes using automation. Participate in capacity planning and performance testingMinimum Education
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field; or equivalent experienceMinimum Special Certifications or Technical Skills
2-4 years of experienceFamiliar with data modelling and database design principlesKnowledge of SQL/NoSQLFamiliar with IaC tools (Terraform/Ansible/Chef etc.) and DevOps tools (GitHub/Jenkins etc.)Minimum Type of Experience the Job Requires
