We are seeking a JR System Administrator – High Performance Computing to join our team using next generation technology to improve decision making and accelerate genetic improvement in bovine and porcine genetics on the basis of phenotypic and genomic data. The successful candidate is a self-starter, resilient, adaptable and willing to take ownership.
You Will Analyze system logs and identify potential issuesInstall and configure new hardware, software, and applicationsManage Operating Systems, software, and application updates and configurationsOwn system and deployment documentationTroubleshoot any reported issuesPerform system, storage and application performance tuningLiaise with IT regarding:Network communication (i.e. datacenter and cloud)Datacenter infrastructure and server racking and cablingValidation of CloudOps deploymentsSecurity assessmentsApplication licensingManage storage and filesystem accessFacilitate user management and communicationManage user accountsProvide support for Computing and AccessActively participate in Company training opportunities to further develop applicable skills.Gain a thorough understanding of the Company’s business and the department’s role within the company RequirementsBasic Qualifications: (required)
A minimum of 2 years of experience in Linux system environmentsA minimum of 2 years of experience with BASH scriptingA minimum of 2 years of experience using Git repositories
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with GitOps automationExperience with DockerExperience with major cloud technology vendors; Azure, GCP, and AWS.Experience with Kubernetes.Business Overview
