Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our finance team at [Company Name], a well-established and innovative industry leader. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with foundational accounting skills to grow their career in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working in or familiarity with large enterprise environments and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, as this role supports high-volume and complex accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities:
+ General Ledger Support: Assist in the preparation and maintenance of journal entries, account reconciliations, and adjustments in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
+ Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR): Process invoices, maintain payment records, post receipts, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
+ Financial Reporting: Ensure accurate data input and assist in generating periodic reports, summaries, and schedules for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
+ Expense Monitoring: Support expense reporting, budget tracking, and cost analyses to ensure alignment with financial goals.
+ ERP System Utilization: Accurately record, retrieve, and analyze financial data using the company’s ERP platform (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or a proprietary system).
+ Compliance and Audit: Assist in ensuring compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements (if applicable), and other audit frameworks.
+ Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including Finance, Procurement, and Operations, to support financial needs and investigations.
Requirements
Qualifications and Skills:
+ Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
+ Experience: 1–2 years of work experience in accounting or a similar finance role, preferably in a large company. Internship experience in a high-volume setting is also welcomed.
+ Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with or exposure to ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) is strongly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.) is required.
+ Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
+ Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities, organizational aptitude, and excellent communication skills.
+ Problem Solving: Ability to adapt to new challenges and resolve discrepancies in a timely and efficient manner.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience with financial analytics tools or other software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is an asset.
+ Familiarity with large-company processes and workflows.
+ Certifications such as CPA or CMA (in progress or planned) will be considered an advantage but are not required.
