Job Title: Junior Accountant
Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing general ledger entries, and supporting the Finance and Accounting team. This position offers a great opportunity for career growth within a rapidly expanding company in the Rio Rancho area.

ResponsibilitiesPost daily cash receipts and maintain bank reconciliations.Prepare daily cash deposits and accurately apply payments to customer accounts.Maintain records for monthly sales and use tax reporting.Maintain monthly lease schedules.Manage fixed assets accounting systems, including adding new assets and disposing of old assets.Prepare customer/client billings as needed.Analyze and maintain monthly general ledger reconciliations, identifying issues and processing corrections.Prepare monthly/quarterly allocation of overhead costs.Maintain a paperless invoice routing and approval system.Cross train with team members to act as backup for key accounting duties.Prepare or assist in preparing various monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.Research, interpret, and apply generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to maintain accurate accounting records and prepare monthly financial statements.Assist with the annual audit as directed.Streamline internal and business reporting processes.Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls.Support the Finance and Accounting team with other activities, projects, and analyses as needed.Essential SkillsStrong understanding of accounting principles.Proficiency in general ledger entries and reconciliations.Experience with month-end close processes.Knowledge of fixed assets accounting.Ability to prepare journal entries and perform bookkeeping tasks.2+ years of experience with Excel, including VLOOKUPS and basic functions.Understanding of debits and credits with at least 2 years of experience.1+ years of experience in cash receipt posting.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.At least 5 years of experience performing relevant accounting duties.Work Environment

This position is fully onsite in a corporate building with a cubicle office setup. The accounting team has grown significantly in the past few months, and the company offers great benefits after the contract period.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55000.00 - $70000.00/hr.
