Job Description
This family-owned construction business is seeking an entry-level bookkeeper with a high school diploma or GED. The ideal candidate should have strong attention to detail, good math skills, a basic understanding of accounting principles, and basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools. Previous office work experience of 1 to 2 years is required. Familiarity with construction accounting or related software is a plus but not required.
ResponsibilitiesManage financial transactions, process invoices, reconcile accounts, assist in Prevailing Wage Reports, and maintain accurate records.Gain hands-on experience with construction accounting, vendor management, and customer contracts.Ensure accuracy in recording financial transactions.Communicate clearly with colleagues and clients regarding financial information.Assist in administrative and clerical duties, working closely with all office personnel.Maintain a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a willingness to adapt and learn in a fast-paced environment.Essential Skills1-2 years of bookkeeping experience.Basic understanding of accounting principles.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.Good math skills.Strong attention to detail.Additional Skills & QualificationsFamiliarity with construction accounting or related software.Experience with QuickBooks.Knowledge of accounts payable and receivable.Experience with reconciliation, data entry, journal entries, and invoice processing.Understanding of purchase orders, customer service, debits, collection, and general ledger.Certified Payroll and Prevailing Wage experience.Ability to work well with the owner and the current bookkeeper.Work Environment
The work schedule is Monday to Thursday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, and Friday from 8:00 am to noon. The role involves working closely with all office personnel in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
