The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.
SPA is in need of a Junior Cost Analyst to support our Critical Infrastructure Group. The Critical Infrastructure Group (CIG) provides technical, programmatic and analytical support to customers with missions in national security to include the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Health and Human Services (HHS), and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The Group brings technical and operational expertise in fields of countering weapons of mass destruction, critical infrastructure protection, emergency response, nuclear non-proliferation, weapons deployment programs, and transportation safety. In addition to management and advisory services, CIG staff collaborate closely with our clients to provide high-quality modeling, simulation, software, and analytical products to meet the most demanding government standards and timelines.
ResponsibilitiesThe Jr. Cost Analyst will perform data collection, model development, database management, data normalization, risk analysis, sensitivity analysis, acquisition/contract evaluation, conduct Net Present Value (NPV), and cost/financial performance monitoring. They will also participate in technical working groups with engineering, budget, schedule, and acquisition functional team members. In addition, the Cost Analyst will manage client relationships and expectations.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
Meet eligibility requirements for a U.S. Public Trust clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).2-5 years of experience in cost estimation, government finance, cost/benefits analysis, and/or analytical focused positions.Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Mathematics, Operational Research, Engineering, Business, or Finance.Strong proficiency in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and other MS Office Suite products.Strong analytical background in gathering and interpreting complex amounts of data and excellent communication skills.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working on Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) programs and analytical involvement with government acquisition process.Proficiency in use of cost estimating and risk tools such as Crystal Ball, @Risk, SEER-SEM, and/or ACEIT.Master’s degree in Economics, Mathematics, Operational Research, Engineering, Business, or Finance.Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salary transparency pay range for the Washington DC area: $60k-80k
