You as Junior Product Developer will support and create the design and development team during the complete seasonal development process from product concept to salesmen samples in line with the brand goals and business vision.
You will help build seasonal collections by analysing our target consumer, researching trends, work out design proposals and develop the products accordingly in tandem with our VF APAC based sourcing team. You will work closely with Merchandising and Marketing team to prepare and present the collection to Sales. You will support the Product Team and manager in creating a valuable seasonal collection.
How You Will Make a Difference
You will achieve this by:
Contributing to build a seasonal collection with a focus on the seasonal colours and mainstream print stories.
Creating design proposals and visualize through mood boards and on- and offline research considering the competition within the field.
Translating ideas & sketches into physical samples within our product development process. By working on technical details about fabrics and finishes, trims, bag constructions, tech packs, quality concerns and testing
Collaborating with the VF APAC based sourcing team, Merchandising team and Marketing department
Taking into consideration the costing structure and pricing calculations, mainly for commercial styles. Understand the impact of material prices, labour costs, manufacturing location.
Being responsible for all sample management: Function as the go-to-person for sample support internally for the Product Department, for Marketing and for Preview show set-up and for E-com.
Support the team in skeleton build-up of PowerPoint, Excel and Word documents for visualization of collection line plans.
Skills for Success
To succeed as a Junior Product Developer, you should have 1 to 2 year’s professional experience in a similar role within design & development in a fashion, lifestyle line of work. You have proven skills in creative software as Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop. The ability to multitask and anticipate is key. A formal education and subsequent University Bachelor or master’s degree in Fashion or Product Development are nice to have. You should have a natural interest in fashion and/or the retail industry and awareness for trends are necessary and a natural curiosity.
