Jr. Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Engineer Location:  Indian Head, MD Department: Engineering Services Type:  Full Time Min. Qualified persons should apply at: https://advancedtechnologyandresearchcorporation.applytojob.com/apply PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful applicant will join ATR's Engineering Services Division, working as an Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) engineer at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Division, Indian Head, MD.  You'll have an opportunity to work on world-class military programs that support the US Navy's Warfare technology as part of the Energetics Technology Division and the Ordnance Electronics Engineering Branch.  The applicant shall work on site with the ESD and Ordnance Electrical Safety Engineering team with s ome off-site work from home available on a weekly basis. The applicant will participate in ESD testing, evaluating, and analysis of US Navy and USMC Ordnance weapon systems. This includes hands-on testing at ESD test facilities of a variety of existing and new system designs. In addition, the applicant will work with the team to develop test plans, schedule tests, submit reports, and resolve technical ESD issues. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: + B.S. Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field + Experience or familiarity with ordnance and/or energetics is preferred + Job experience with Navy or DoD is a plus SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS: + Analytical skills with respect to mechanical drawings, schematics, and diagrams + Ability and interest to work with and gain experience with testing ordnance and explosives + Experience with some level of design + Experience with working in teams and multi-tasking + Experience with analysis report writing and weekly report writing + Possess strong MS Office skills to include, but not limited to MS Word, MS Project, MS PowerPoint, and Adobe Pro + Possess excellent verbal/written communications skills and attention to detail + Some travel required OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Candidate must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance or favorable adjudication of a national security background investigation. Current successful background investigation completion is a plus.   Powered by JazzHR
