Your role as a Junior Facilities Engineer: The Junior Facilities Engineer is primarily responsible for minor repairs, seating repairs, general maintenance, and special event set up. This includes working in building trades, carpentry, plumbing, and mechanical. All the responsibilities we will trust you with: * Provide prompt, professional, and courteous responses to all requests, including those from food and beverage service provider, other contracted building service providers and Ballpark patrons * Assist Engineering staff to ensure compliance with all City, State and Federal safety and environmental laws, codes, standards, and regulations * Order, stock and inventory parts and supplies as directed by the Chief Engineer * Assist with gameday responsibilities checklist and pregame duties * Assist with non-baseball special event needs, event setup and electrical set up requirements * Assist with general seating maintenance repair program * Assist Facilities Engineers with maintaining and performing maintenance and repairs on all mechanical, HVAC, MEP and life safety equipment throughout the facility as outlined by Director, Engineering including, but not limited to: * Pumps * Boilers * Air Handling Units * Fan Powered Terminals and Terminal Boxes * Plumbing and Sewer Systems * Test, adjust and repair sewer diverters as needed * Life Safety Systems * Act as a first responder to fire alarm signals * Provide assistance to fire department * Assist contractor with periodic testing of fire alarm system * Test fire sprinkler systems * Test smoke fire dampers * Make adjustments and changes on HVAC and related equipment to maintain established comfort zones within the guidelines set forth by the Director, Engineering including, but not limited to: * Clean and paint all equipment and surrounding areas designated by the Chief Engineer * Maintain, without flaw or exception, plant logs and files to include, but not limited to: * * * Boiler room machine logs * Non-company personnel logs * Maintenance of time logs * Operating engineers' logs * Maintain superior appearance and working condition of all the MEP systems assigned to the Engineering Department * Compose written, factual reports of occurrences and incidents on property, including appropriate and prompt completion notices relative to all assigned work orders * Proactively search for opportunities to improve the physical facility, including identifying problem or deficient areas, developing immediate solutions and recommending workflow efficiencies * Perform all maintenance in a safe manner and comply with all written company policies * Assist emergency authorities and response teams * Represent the Club in a positive and professional manner at all times * Assumes other duties and responsibilities as assigned Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most: * General knowledge of hand tools, power tools, vertical lifts, forklifts and ladders * Proficient office skills and use of office equipment, including computers, copiers, laser printers, fax machines and telephones * Proven ability to: * Read and understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form, including shop manuals and drawings * Maintain calm demeanor in emergency situations * Ability to use deductive logic for troubleshooting equipment * Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and effectively work well with all employees and outside vendors in a collaborative, respectful manner * Exceptional time management and organizational skills with proven ability to multi-task and manage projects on strict deadlines * Consistent, punctual and regular attendance * Maintain professional demeanor with a high degree of discretion, integrity, and accountability You will be required to meet the following: * Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment * Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent * Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. This includes the ability to work baseball games, non-baseball events, and traditional office hours, whichever is needed at any given time * Minimum physical requirements: able to travel to and gain access to various areas of the ballpark (indoor and outdoor) for prolonged periods of time during a variety of weather situations; position requires standing 100% of the time, the ability to lift and transport 25lbs or more, climb up and down stairs and ladders, access remote work areas and confined spaces ( i.e. crawl spaces, roofs, etc.), and the ability to use full range of manual dexterity (i.e.: sitting, squatting, bending, kneeling, lifting and walking) * As a condition of employment, you must successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check and drug screening Pay and additional compensation: Per the California pay transparency law, the base hourly range for this full-time position is $23.00 to $24.00. Eligible overtime as applicable. As a candidate for this position, your pay and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, job-related skills, and any other factors the San Diego Padres considers relevant to the hiring decision for this position.
