What You'll Do Avalara is seeking a detail-oriented Jr. Product Manager who will play a critical role in bridging the gap between business requirements and engineering execution. The ideal candidate will have a passion for translating business needs into detailed product requirements and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality, scalable SaaS solutions. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, especially engineering, to ensure that projects are executed on time and meet business objectives. Key Responsibilities: Translate Business Requirements: Collaborate with stakeholders and senior product managers to understand and capture high-level business needs, and convert them into detailed, technical requirements for the engineering team. Detailed Requirement Documentation: Write clear and concise user stories, technical requirements, and acceptance criteria that accurately reflect business goals, ensuring engineering teams have actionable direction. Collaborate with Engineering: Serve as the primary point of contact for engineering teams during development, providing clarity on product requirements and facilitating communication between business and technical stakeholders. Track Progress to Closure: Manage the end-to-end tracking of product development activities, ensuring timelines are met, blockers are resolved, and product delivery aligns with business expectations. Quality Assurance: Work closely with QA teams to ensure that products are thoroughly tested, meet acceptance criteria, and deliver high-quality user experiences. Support Product Launches: Assist with the product launch process, including creating supporting documentation and communicating product features to internal teams. Qualifications: 3 years of experience in product management or relevant experience in translating business requirements into detailed technical specifications. Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams. Experience in writing detailed user stories, requirements, and technical documentation for engineering teams. Familiarity with Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms. Experience in a SaaS environment is a plus. Excellent Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey business requirements to technical teams, and to clarify details throughout the development process. Collaboration and Teamwork: Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, QA, and product stakeholders, ensuring alignment and smooth execution of product goals. Problem-Solving Mindset: The ability to quickly identify challenges during the development process and work collaboratively with teams to resolve issues efficiently.
