Must be 18 years of age    Must be a U.S. Citizen     ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS + Interacts with arresting officers and reviews warrants and other court and legal documents. + Creates prisoner records and updates records as new information is received. + Determines appropriate court and jurisdiction for all charges and warrants. + Performs criminal history checks and updates and records information for appropriate court .   + Interviews prisoners to create prisoner profiles and records possible liability issues. + Notifies housing units of prisoner court dates, releases, holds, etc. + Assembles Remanding Orders and prepares documents for prisoner court appearances. + Reviews prisoner records to establish release dates. + Notifies arresting agencies, pre-trial services, or other outside agencies of the release of prisoners. + Processes requests for releasing prisoners to court appearances, transfers between jails and prisons, and court-ordered appointments. + Responds to Prisoner Request Forms and prisoner questions. + KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA) • Criminal Justice System• General judicial processes• Warrants, court commitment records, detainers and legal documentation• Record Management Systems• Criminal Justice organizations• Sheriff's Office and Jail Policy and Procedures• Sheriff's Office, state, and federal computer databases related to job specific duties• State and federal laws pertaining to the arrest, detention and release of a detainee and/or prisoner Skills and Abilities to: • Proficiency in a technologically driven environment with intermediate to advanced computer skills• Perform basic math calculations• Access and interpret a variety of documents contained in local, state and federal record systems usingindependent judgment• Independently review official legal records and court documents to confirm a detainee is being heldlawfully.• Verify accuracy and validity of legal documents generated for detention, incarceration and release ofprisoners as well as changes in charges, bail amounts and court dates.• Research and analyze records for conflicting or missing information and work with the courts forclarification• Effective communication and customer service skills with a demonstrated ability to professionally interactwith colleagues and prisoners of various social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds• Maintain confidentiality of records and information• Follow verbal and written procedures and instructions• Ability to manage time effectively and transition between multiple tasks.• Complete essential job functions within the standard work time, with or without accommodation• An attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage competing priorities• Communicate effectively and concisely both verbally and in writing• Ability to function both independently and within teams.• Obtain and maintain BCI certification• Work under pressure and meet deadlines Job LocationsUS-UT-SALT LAKE CITY Requisition ID2025-38291 # of Openings1 Requisition Post Information* : Posted Date1 day ago(2/13/2025 6:39 PM) SLCO Department (Portal Searching)Sheriff Location : LocationUS-UT-SALT LAKE CITY Location : Address3415 S 900 W Location : Postal Code84119 Position Type (Portal Searching)Regular Full-Time (Merit) Requisition Post Information* : Post End Date3/3/2025 Grade012
