Job Description:

Design, implement, and maintain embedded firmware to manage and drive the behavior of tactical, “fly-away” SATCOM terminals used by governments, militaries, and disaster-relief agencies.  Create products and features to support beyond-line-of-sight communications for locations that have limited communications infrastructure.  Write firmware to manage hardware elements of the terminal, provide monitor and control functions, and simplify operation to create a streamlined user experience.

Essential Functions:

Develop in C++ for multi-threaded, ARM-based embedded systems running Linux.Develop in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for web application interfaces.Develop in C for multi-threaded, embedded systems running FreeRTOS.Develop in Python to create hardware simulators used for testing.Perform product testing to verify firmware functionality. Perform unit-level and system-level testing to validate design.Support other engineering teams and manufacturing with design and production.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience in software Engineering.

Preferred Additional Skills:

Familiar with networking fundamentals, switches, and routers. Familiar with RF communications principles.Able to operate multimeters, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers.Able to read electrical schematics.Proficient in object-oriented languages and design.Familiar with software configuration management.Able to learn quickly and apply new concepts to development tasks

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Vermont, Washington State and New York State is $73,000 - $136,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
