The Role\: Junior Buyer
What will you do?
Functional Expertise\:
1. Procures materials to meet customer requirements at an optimal cost while and schedules supplier deliveries based on requirements.
2. Maintains lot sizes, period of supply, planning bill demand, lead time and minimum order quantities with suppliers.
3. Supports the phase-out/in of products to avoid obsolete inventory.
4. Obtains supplier quotations as required, notifies suppliers of engineering changes to drawings/specifications and provides suppliers with forecast and open order information.
5. Ensures that all released Purchase Orders are sent to suppliers and are confirmed following the required turn-around time.
6. Resolves invoice issues, coordinates with Procurement Manager/Counterparts on the reasons of the discrepancy, adjusts system information when necessary.
7. Monitors supplier performance related to on-time delivery (OTD) and quality.
8. Maintains reports and trend analysis schedules as required to track major objectives in Purchasing.
9. Reviews Open Purchase Orders on a regular basis to execute expediting and schedule push-outs as required to avoid shortages and ensures correct/accurate data are maintained in ERP system.
10. To achieve the target goals on Metrics for Shortage Management, P2P Ordering, P2P Invoicing, Processing of NCMRs (Trackwise), Collaborative Goal on ATS Volume target, Cost Savings Measures, Healthy Stock Inventory and other team Metrics (if any) which were listed and approved.
Customer Commitment
1. Provide feedback on customer inquiries on a timely manner.
2. Completes workload on time. Monitors if transactions are processed in a timely manner.
3. Implements error-proofing methods to ensure all transactions done are accurately.
4. Participates in conferences calls, meetings and discussions with customers.
5. Adheres to shift schedules and attendance expectations to ensure consistent support to customers and a balanced workload for peers.
6. Coordinates with other teams/support to complete the request of customers.
Internal Communication
1. Records and submits periodic and/or quarterly transaction records, log sheets and/or trackers.
2. Plans, executes and manages own workload and projects in cooperation with line leaders.
3. Assists in leading team meetings, huddles and information cascades. Communicates with the team on best practices, lessons learned, process and product updates during team huddles/meetings.
Continuous Improvement
1. Identifies problems areas and sources, offers possible solutions and escalates to line leaders/senior leaders when necessary.
2. Completes Individual Development Plans (i.e. Process Improvement) and implements agreed Training/Development activities.
