About the RoleThe Junior Buyer assists in developing, maintaining and investigating potential new suppliers as well as current suppliers for new and existing programs. The Junior Buyer will create material requisitions, purchase orders, request for quotations and assist/work with various departments within the division to ensure all production requirements are met. The Junior Buyer assists in the process of sourcing raw material, components, and services from suppliers based upon best overall value.
Your Responsibilities Manage customer steel resale programs, contract management, billing summary, and dispute resolution with assistance from Program Buyer and Purchasing Manager Maintain Quarterly pricing updates for CRU pricing material Maintain the ERP system to be accurate all times relating to parts, suppliers, and pricing. Expedite/follow up on requirements as necessary Monitor supplier performance for delivery, quality and commercial on a monthly basis Actively participate in review meetings to ensure the successful launch of new products, processes and tools as required Filing of all production purchase orders Issuing production related purchase orders Maintain supplier capacity information and update quarterly Reconcile variances between purchase orders and invoices as related to production suppliers Coordinate/schedule completion of supplier surveys as required Understands and utilizes departmental procedures. Establish and maintain a high level of communication and effective working relationships with suppliers and peers. Provide support and backup for MRO buyer as needed Complies with, supports and models CBAM’s operational procedures/policies, Employee Handbook, and Magna’s Employee’s Charter, Corporate Constitution, and Operational Principles. Complies with relevant Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental programs (e.g. ISO 9001/IATF 16949, ISO 45001 ISO 14001). Complies with all Health and Safety programs in accordance with OSHA. Follows and ensures Company procedures regarding safety rules and regulations are followed. Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills. Conducts themselves in a professional manner. Keeps work area clean and tidy. Other duties as required.Who we are looking for College/University degree in Purchasing, Materials or Business discipline and/or equivalent work experience Commitment to teamwork Able to work independently with minimal supervision Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products Able to demonstrate understanding of how job performance affects product quality and customer satisfaction Exceptional ability to work with others; build and maintain positive employee relations Able to prepare, read and interpret written reports, correspondence, instructions, procedures and guidelines Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees, suppliers and customers Able to manage and schedule multiple priorities and meet deadlines Able to work flexible hours and overtime A valid Driver’s License is required for day travel. A valid passport which allows the Junior Buyer to travel to attend customer and potential integrator/supplier meetings may be necessary. Some day travel and overtime may be required to meet customer expectations. The Junior Buyer requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Some of the information in-process can be considered confidential and discretion is required. The Junior Buyer works in an office environment but may be exposed to some elements such as temperature and noise during time spent in the plant.
Your preferred qualifications College/University degree in Purchasing, Materials or Business discipline and/or equivalent work experience 6 months of experience in Purchasing/Materials Management related field, preferably in a manufacturing environment What we offer
