Job Title: Junior Buyer

Job Description

As a Junior Buyer, you will be responsible for analyzing, adjusting, and optimizing product and component inventory levels to meet operational demands. You will coordinate quality issues with suppliers, manage returns, and proactively drive spend analysis activities to identify strategic sourcing opportunities. You will use strategic sourcing processes to select suppliers and resolve purchase order discrepancies. Additionally, you will create and manage purchase orders, requests for quotes, and proposals, and work closely with management to avoid inventory and invoice discrepancies.

ResponsibilitiesAnalyze, adjust, and optimize product and component inventory levels to coincide with operations demand, lead time changes, and movement forecasts.Coordinate quality issues with suppliers and effectively manage returns.Drive spend analysis activities and identify strategic sourcing opportunities.Utilize strategic sourcing processes to select suppliers based on cost, capability, quality, reliability, and delivery.Perform problem-solving and troubleshooting for purchase orders; resolve receipt and invoice discrepancies and escalate to the Purchasing Manager as needed.Create and manage purchase orders, requests for quotes, and proposals, including scope of work, technical documents, pricing, procedures, cost, deliverables, and key milestones.Work closely with management and purchasing personnel to avoid inventory and invoice discrepancies.Enter replenishment orders for brokered items.Create purchase orders for outside vendors as needed.Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and resolve shortages.Review requisition orders to verify accuracy and specifications.Answer phone questions with prompt follow-up.Prepare and maintain purchasing files.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsExperience in purchasing and inventory control management.Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.Strong negotiation and communication skills.Strong leadership, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.Knowledge of purchasing, commercial understanding, and cost breakdown.Results-oriented with the ability to work well in a team and under pressure.Ability to identify potential impacts of a problem on relevant areas of the operation.Ability to see the bigger picture beyond the scope of the job.Additional Skills & QualificationsPackaging experiencing is a plus.Ability to understand and speak conversational Spanish.Ability to work occasional weekends.Work Environment

The position is set in a Food and Beverage manufacturing environment. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, starting at 6:00 AM, with a total of 45 hours per week.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $30.00/hr.
