A Category analyst to support the Merchandizing team to take the decision on multiple levers in the function like Sale, New product development, Inventory management and Profitability.

Education

• Graduate / Post-Graduate

Relevant Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in handling Retail Operations/Business analytics / Production Planning

 Process Contributions Consumer and Competition Analytics Encircle analysis on customer –progression journeys
enables identification of opportunities for inducing category-upgrades (Plain to Studded), inter category movements and early spotting of things to do/things to avoid. Deep dive on Non purchaser data and recommendations
Key insight generated included inadequate size-mix and actionable recommendation of size-based buffers. Periodic analysis on purchase basket and product-adjacencies: such analysis formed the basis of our original ‘Dus ka Dum’ programme. Periodic reporting on New vs Repeat, first time category buyers, dormancy as well analytics on triggers and potential remedies. All analytics on aggregated competition data pertaining to Gold rate, pricing, range, offers etc.
Reporting and Dashboards Making appropriate reports of all KPIs and analytic inputs for all reviews including MRMs and planning meets. Drill downs available across 3 key dimensions
- Geography (Region, State, City, Store, Channel etc)
- Product (Group, Category, PriceBand, Attribute etc)
- Time (YTD,QTD, MTD, date specific) Deploying a customised suite of standardised dashboards for us to monitor and review with the Regional Merchandisers, against their key deliverables. These include sales building blocks, category and btq wise performance, Activation performance, Best Deals performance, etc.

Assisting in Planning and Forecasting Aggregate as well as Attribute wise forecast (Daily, Wedding, Occasion) of sales trends and lead forecast for inventory planning for the next 3 months. Scenario building for sales and discount-payouts for offer-planning linked to various combinations of product groups, category. This includes simulating customisations of offers for different regions. Vendor Performance Monitering along the dimensions of GMRoI, Sell thru and Innovation-quotient. This forms the basis for our reviews with the responsible sourcing team and our vendor-partners
4) Pilot and new product review and recommendations for scale up / down, MTR, Distribution expansion to the range planners
Improvement Initiatives Database management Provisioning aged stock and helping to take necessary actions Rotation policy recommendations based on location and category driven sell thru trends by product-type Framework for ‘Best Deals’ programme: sensitivity analysis for when to commence, extent of discounting, discount Vs front-line incentive mix etc. Product life cycle and Margin based review of different types of products including MTR, collections and CORE; periodic alerts on sell thru, saturation, shortfalls etc. with recommendations
