CDM Smith provides design and analysis expertise for Municipal, State and Federal clients in the field of hydrology and hydraulics for critical infrastructure like roads, bridges, water supply and sewer facilities. CDM Smith trains ENEV.1 and ENEV.2 candidates to perform engineering calculations at the highest level with an emphasis on high quality deliverables. As a key member of the H&H team, candidates perform (under direct supervision), basic to moderate complexity engineering designs including but not limited to site layout development, site grading and drainage, hydraulics and hydrology calculations, water distribution systems, collection systems, storage tanks and impoundments, foundation designs, stormwater infrastructure and treatment, and occasionally single-story structures. Reviews draft designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations. Ensures that firm policies and practices are followed on all designs. Performs site reviews and studies, as needed, to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications. Could submit technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals. Performs other duties as required.
