Job Description Job Title: Junior Commercial Operator
Location: Paris, France
The Role: Faststream is proud to be collaborating with our customer in the search for a Junior Operator. This is an excellent opportunity for a Deck Officer or somebody with entry level experience to move ashore and learn the role of a Commercial Operator.
Our customer is a dynamic and rapidly growing French-based global shipowner, dedicated to providing safe, sustainable, and innovative shipping solutions to power the global economy. They are committed to operator with excellence, ensuring operations prioritise safety, quality, efficiency, and environmental responsibility.
Responsibilities:
Keep in close contact with the operations department and advise charterers and brokers on vessel needs, movements, and expected dates of completion of present voyages. Organise the refuelling of each vessel to ensure the most competitive prices are obtained. Gather necessary information for load port and disport (restrictions & requirements). Monitor and verify cargo and ballast plans, ensuring Masters follow proper instructions regarding cargo details, bunkering schedule, C/P main terms, specifics, restrictions, and requirements for load port and disport. Appoint agents for each port, arrange for cargo surveyors to attend cargo operations on the owner’s side as required. Monitor vessel performance, noon reports, and challenge weather data received by the vessels against third-party providers. Participate in the development and update of the company OMS. Advise charterers on vessel positions. Inform marine departments and all external stakeholders of the vessel’s next voyage. Check time sheets and cargo documents. Handle disputes with charterers, agents, etc. Experience Required:
LNG sailing experience (preferred). Chemical tanker experience (desirable). ICS certification (desirable). Coding skills (desirable). Adaptable mindset. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an understanding of cultural differences. Good command of English and French speaking skills. You must have the right to work in the EU.
