Junior Creative Designer

Mercer is seeking an ambitious Junior Creative Designer to join the Impact team in our London office.    

Working as a key member of the Impact design team, the Junior Creative Designer will work alongside our designers, motion graphics artists, strategists and copywriters, creating engaging designs and solutions for many of the world’s leading brands, across a variety of projects.

In the role of Junior Creative Designer you will collaborate with the Communication Consultants, managing the delivery of employee communications from concept to delivery.  You will demonstrate a collaborative approach to your work and have a keen eye for detail.

Other responsibilities are, but not limited to: the initial brief, concept creation, design and layout, through to producing artwork and managing production on all client communication collateral.

This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

We will count on you to:

Create, manage and deliver creative designs for internal and external clients in various forms of mediaManage production throughout the lifecycle of the creative project, liaising with suppliers directlySuccessfully deliver your own tasks/activities or as directed by the Creative DirectorLiaise with both internal and external stakeholders and be able to identify the creative requirements for the engagement of the clients’ employeesProduce design projects to a high standard and be responsible for the design brief including liaising with the Creative Director and requesting advice, proof checks or stage development meetings where necessary to ensure it meets client expectations and always before final approval/deliveryWork closely with members of the design team to ensure the integrity of the original conceptTravel to client offices for meeting and workshops (when required)Continually look for innovative formats and products that could be packaged and sold as part of the Communications offeringProvide the business with best value by estimating and managing time accurately ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality

What you need to have: 

Excellent CS skills – particularly in InDesign, Illustrator and PhotoshopExamples that demonstrate high knowledge of print production methodsA portfolio demonstrating a diverse range of both print and digital based work (please include your portfolio when you apply)High quality retouching skillsHigh typography and layout skillsAccuracy – in everything and natural close attention to detail
