Junior Data Analyst - Prospectus Research Team

Responsibilities:

An entry-level opportunity for a Data Research Analyst. This position will be responsible for deliverables which entail obtaining financial documents, data collection from various sources, data quality, and verification, and researching of regulatory filings to support multiple ISS databases. 

Research financial regulatory documents, specifically prospectuses, to maintain an up-to-date database of open, closed-end, variable annuity mutual funds, and ETFsAnalyze and extract key industry data for client-facing applications and research reports from financial documents and regulatory filingsCollect data based on established methodologies, comply with established work processes and performance standards to ensure timely and high-quality dataEffectively utilize ISS databases, the SEC Edgar website, and the Internet to complete researchParticipate in data quality assurance efforts, including performing root-cause analysis for identified data quality issuesDo in-depth analysis of mutual fund investment strategies and objectivesDetermine relevant and interesting industry changes and summarize concisely in client reportsSupport process improvement and technology projects by contributing to specifications and testing deliverablesHelp maintain documentation of work processes and institutional knowledge in a centralized, web-based databaseWork collaboratively with team members both in the Philippines and in the U.S.Actively cross-train and expand opportunities to work on various data processing and research responsibilities across different ISS databasesPerform special projects and other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Management, Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics, or a closely related field, or equivalent experienceStrong verbal and written communication skills; can thrive in a cross-border / multi-cultural work environmentKnowledge of mutual fund, annuity, and/or insurance industry is a plusGathering and analyzing financial data from regulatory mutual fund documentsDemonstrated troubleshooting, follow-through, critical-thinking skills, and comprehensive quality assurance analysisExperience using Excel to manipulate and prepare financial data is a plus Ability to work cooperatively and strategically in a team environment with all levels of professional, technical, and administrative staff and to integrate resources on a timely and organized basis

Work Location & Schedule:

Amenable working at Makati City on a permanent late dayshift schedule (12nn- 9pm, Manila Time)Amenable to go on an onsite training for at least 2 months prior to transitioning to hybrid working arrangement.Hybrid working arrangement (at least 3 days' work onsite per week)
