Junior Designer

JOB SUMMARY

The Jr. Designer will be responsible for executing cohesive design solutions that align with project briefs and brand identity. This role involves assisting in various design tasks, both print and digital for system LTO campaigns, menu boards, and day to day projects. Reporting to the Sr. Lead Designer, the Jr. Designer will handle design through production, including photo retouching and preparing files for print. They will also update existing creative assets for specific marketing requests and present finished design concepts to the Sr. Lead Designer. Additionally, the Jr. Designer will stay updated on new design programs and maintain an archive of brand assets. This hybrid position will be based in Irvine, CA with some local travel to shoots required.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Execute designs and conceptual solutions that result in cohesive messaging and branding of projects while adhering to the brief and brand visual guidelines Assist in design of print and digital assets for system LTO campaigns, menu boards, eblasts, and day to day projects Design through production which involves high-res photo retouching and preparing files to go to print Provide layouts and copy to ensure that work is aligned with brand visual guidelines, layout, and color correction, and that proper grammar/selling is used Update existing creative for specific marketing requests. Examples include resizing photography for app/web use and versioning out creative assets for different layouts. Present and champion finished design concepts to Sr. Lead Designer with a strong ability to ‘sell’ and influence the underlying strategy and direction by providing critical input Stay ahead of new and emerging design programs Maintain an archive of all brand assets Some local travel to shoots required

 

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

BA or BFA in a related field (e.g. Art or Graphic Design) or equivalent experience Minimum of 2-3 years of Design/Production experience  Effective communication skills, both written and presentation Extensive software knowledge in the applicable are of expertise (Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, After Effects), MS Office, HTML, etc). HTML and illustration experience is a plus. Knowledge of print production is a plus Strong typography skills with a deep understanding of messaging and visual hierarchy Ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines

COMPENSATION

 

Salary Range: $69,800 to $75,000 annually + bonus eligibility. This is the expected salary range for this position. Ultimately, in determining pay, we'll consider the successful candidate’s location, experience, and other job-related factors.
