Role description:
Arcadis seeks an initiative-taking and talented Junior Designer to join our Living Architectural team in the Washington DC office. The ideal candidate will be a flexible, collaborative individual with strong time management skills, with a desire to contribute and improve design excellence in project deliverables across all phases. Project delivery experience for public and private clients at various scales is a must. Position will touch on project work from broad concept and land-use strategy, urban placemaking concepts, building design and massing to architectural detailing.

Role accountabilities:
• Collaborating with team and senior staff supporting design and technical tasks
• Conduct research and inquiry developing concept designs and yield studies
• Optimizes design process with utilization of available tools and resources
• Calculates and tracks development metrics
• Assists in the generation of written reports, documents and project proposals
• Ability to manage time across multiple projects and leads organization of project data and materials
• Produces high-quality graphics for documents and presentations
• Contributing to the review and coordination of work products at various scales
• Assists with client management, stakeholder engagement and community outreach
• Other special projects as assigned
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field
• Master’s degree in Architecture or related field preferred
• 3-5 years related work experience
• Strong design skills and attention to detail is required
• Strong verbal, written, and graphic communication skills are essential
• Interacts well with other disciplines and clients in a manner that builds productive relationships
• Proficient with Adobe Suite, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Rhino, Enscape, Lumion and Revit
• Knowledge of GIS mapping and database skills
• Experience with parametric design applications like Dynamo or Grasshopper
• Effective time management skills

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. These benefits include medical, dental, and vision, EAP, 401K, STD, LTD, AD&D, life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition program and optional benefits including wellbeing benefits, adoption assistance and tuition reimbursement. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $$66,000 - $106,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
