With the recent implementation of Ontario Regulation 406/19 (On-Site and Excess Soil Management), much of your project work will also support our clients’ management of excess soil from their construction projects._ + _In the office, you will carry out record reviews (historical data and regulatory information), assist with data tabulation and interpretation of laboratory reports, report preparation, and other office assignments. You may also assist with preparation of project documentation and coordination of subcontractors and equipment for field programs._ + _In the field, your work will include, but not be limited to, soil logging and sampling, surveying, groundwater and surface water sampling, stream flow measurements, soil vapour sampling, and indoor air sampling._ + _You will supervise subcontractors for ground disturbance and utility location, surveying, borehole drilling, groundwater well installation, test pit excavation, and remedial excavations (e.g., tank removals)._ + _In keeping with our culture of technical excellence, we expect that you maintain excellent field notes, and that you perform, and record work tasks as requested efficiently and accurately while adhering to current industry standards and regulatory requirements. Strong communication skills (written and verbal) are essential._ + _All or your work will be carried out with the support and direction of more experienced team members._ **What you’ll bring to WSP:** + _Have a bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences or engineering (a diploma in engineering technology may also be considered for this position)._ + _Are eligible for professional certification (P. Eng., P. Geo.) (strong candidates who may not be eligible will also be considered)._ + _Have working knowledge of site assessment (Phase I ESA, Phase II ESA), O. Reg. 153/04) and relevant regulations (O. Reg. 153/04, O. Reg. 406/19)._ + _Have prior field experience with soil and/or groundwater sampling._ + _Have excellent communication skills (verbal, written), strong attention to detail and a passion for health and safety._ + _Are prepared to spend a significant part of your early career in the field (enjoying the finest weather Ontario can offer)._ + _Are willing to travel for work (short term work placements)._ + _Have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for light duty projects within the area (reimbursable)._ **WSP** is one of the world's leading professional services firms.
