Junior Environmental Technician
The Opportunity: The Remediation Program Management team at WSP is currently seeking a Junior Environmental Scientist or Technician to join our rapidly growing group in Edmonton, Alberta. The role will work closely with our team of environmental professionals and will be integral in providing support for our ongoing environmental projects including environmental monitoring, assessment, remediation and reclamation projects. The position involves working in a close-knit team of dedicated professionals and you will be responsible for planning and carrying out field assessment and data collection and presenting your findings in reports. This role will focus primarily on our upstream oil and gas portfolio. What you’ll bring to WSP: + University degree or technical diploma in environmental science, engineering or related discipline; + A desire to work outdoors and understand office work is also an integral part of the role; + Excellent communication skills and pro-active problem solving skills; + Love to learn; + Eligible for membership in a professional organization (APEGA, AIA, ASPB) is an asset; + Understanding of current provincial and federal regulatory remediation guidelines and directives; + Strong soil characterization and vegetation identification skills; + Must possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license with no restrictions; + Ability and willingness to travel for field work **WSP** is one of the world's leading professional services firms.
