Junior Estimator - TTR Substations

  The Position Proposition:                                                                                                                                                                     

The Junior Estimator - TTR Substations will work under the Chief Estimator to coordinate bid coverage and solicit subcontractor and material pricing.

This position is office-based in the Fresno, CA area. 

Key Responsibilities:

Solicits sub-contractors/ material suppliers for bids by phone calls, and email.

Complete material and quantity take-offs.

Request project drawings and specifications as needed.

Attend project pre-bid job walks.

Assist with bid document control by organizing job folders for the estimating team.

Able to develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors.

Create, review, and request information relating to bids.

Issue drawings, specifications, and project addenda to trade contractors.

Supports senior estimators as instructed.

Assist the estimating team with uploading technical information for bid proposals.

Effectively work on multiple projects at a time with multiple estimators.

Upload estimate reports to hand over to project controls and project management team.

Attend job kick offs.

Prepare all bid documentation for civil and electrical estimators.

Staying current on construction methods, materials, wage rates and more.

Prepare and maintain bid schedules as required.

Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Maintain continuity among estimating team members by documenting and communication actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

Ensure project documents are complete, current and stored properly.

 Educational & Minimum Requirements:                                                                                                                                           High School diploma or GED. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. High efficiency with MSFT Excel, Bluebeam, and Estimating Software. Must have excellent written, verbal, and computer skills. Must be detail-oriented, well organized, a team player, and able to prioritize duties to meet assigned deadlines. Able to communicate clearly and effectively. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. Possess resourcefulness and ability to track down information quickly and accurately. Must be a self-starter with the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision. Must be able to work well within a deadline driven environment. Must have a valid driver’s license. Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
