For Project: EU-GCC Dialogue on Economic Diversification II
Background: The "EU-GCC Dialogue on Economic Diversification II" project aims to strengthen economic relations between the European Union (EU) and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) through enhanced trade, investment, and regulatory cooperation. The project supports the economic diversification agendas of the GCC countries in line with the EU's strategic partnership objectives within the region.
DAI is looking for a Junior Events Manager
Role Overview: The Junior Events Manager will work with the project team to manage project events. The manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining the project’s events calendar and for its successful execution. This will involve liaising within the team and with external stakeholders to plan and manage all aspects of events that are supported by the project, including logistical details as well as technical /subject matter content and materials. The manager will also liaise with the project Communications and Visibility Manager to ensure that the technical and content units contributions are suitably prepared and delivered.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the organisation of project events including business forums, outreach sessions, roundtables, workshops, and high-level conferences.Maintain and update the project events calendar and schedule.Manage all aspects of event planning and execution, including budgeting, procurement, contracting, and logistics in line with DAI and EU procedures.Liaise with the Team Leader, Communications and Visibility Manager, and relevant thematic experts to ensure the event content aligns with project goals.Coordinate the preparation of event-related materials, ensuring consistency with project branding and visibility standards.Facilitate communication with stakeholders, including EU and GCC institutions, business representatives, and media partners.Support the preparation of post-event reporting, including participation statistics, outcomes, and lessons learned.Contribute to internal planning, monitoring, and reporting tools as part of the project management process.Profile required
Qualifications & Skills:
University degree in a relevant field (event management, hospitality, public relations, marketing, or communications). Two additional years of directly relevant professional experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.3–5 years of professional experience in event planning, marketing, or public relations.Proven experience in managing event logistics, coordination, and stakeholder communication.Demonstrated experience with high-level events, preferably including international stakeholders and government/private sector representatives.Demonstrated skills in event management, event planning, branding and marketing, or social media management are required. Demonstrated capability with logistical preparation and ‘on-the-day' coordination of events is required. Experience should preferably include large-scale events and events with senior representatives from government, private sector and the media.Demonstrated skills in in producing written project management materials, such as planning documents and tools, and post-event analytical reports.Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and virtual collaboration and stakeholders’ engagement tools.Strong organisational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a multicultural, fast-paced environment.Demonstrated creativity and flexibility in designing and delivering events.Client-oriented approach with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.Reporting: The Junior Events Manager will report to the Project Team Leader and coordinate closely with the Communications and Visibility Manager and relevant project staff.
Duration: Long-term assignment (Non-Key Expert), 250 days.
Note: This is a Non-Key Expert (NKE) position and will be mobilised in accordance with project work plans and specific activity requirements.
