Charles Schwab Investment Management (CSIM) is the asset management arm of the Charles Schwab Corporation. CSIM delivers a wide variety of products including mutual funds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and money market funds within Schwab Asset Management (SAM). SAM is seeking a JuniorFundamental Equity Research Analyst who will join a collaborative team to assist in the active, fundamental, bottom-up research process and participate in the management of the ThomasPartners strategies as well as some active equity mutual funds.
Key job responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Assume coverage of different economic sectors or industries, develop insights into portfolio holdings as well as uncover new opportunities within the coverage areasDevelop and maintain detailed company forecasts, company and industry-specific drivers, price targets, and actionable ideasAssist the research team in ad hoc projects, research administration, and systemsSupport client services and sales teams inquiriesWhat you haveRequired Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and CFA and/or MBA Ability to work on-site in Boston office3+ years of relevant experience with a buy or sell side firmExperience with bottom-up security analysisExperience with Bloomberg, Factset, and other related softwarePreferred Qualifications
Solid accounting and financial statement/KPI modeling abilitiesOutstanding communication and presentation skills, ability to discuss and explain involved concepts in finance and mathematics in both verbal and written formQuick learner, comfortable dealing with ambiguous, fluid situationsAnalytical and critical thinking skills; ability to make good decisions when faced with complex or ambiguous dataPassion, integrity, creativity, inquisitiveness and self confidenceThe candidate should be a self-starter, well organized, and be able to work in a collaborative, team environmentIn addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
