Maxar is seeking junior to entry level Information Security engineer in a hybrid remote/in-person role on the Information Assurance team closely supporting a software development, maintenance and operation project under Department of Defense contract. Principal Responsibilities:
Improve system security posture by running vulnerability scans, patching software, applying configuration-based controls following DISA STIG benchmarks or vendor best-practices, and recommending future fixes and process improvementsMaintain mission-critical functionality by rigorously testing all changes in a sandbox environment using both pre-defined software tests and ad-hoc operability tests based on one’s own judgementAssist with maintaining security documentation by evaluating STIG checklists, analyzing reports from automated scans, documenting remediation work and communicating results to the IAMTroubleshoot and resolve network, virtualization, and software configuration issuesCommunicate with multidisciplinary team and articulate technical concepts and ideas effectivelySkills Required
0-5 years of technical experience implementing security controls on information systems based on compliance benchmarks or procedural requirementsBachelor’s degree or higher in a Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science or Information Systems from an accredited institution OR relevant DoD/Military training OR active CompTIA Security+, CASP+, GSEC or comparable or higher certification OR 2 years of previous professional experience in a cybersecurity, information security, or information assurance roleStrong proficiency with the Linux operating system command-line interface (CLI)Proficiency with container platform or orchestration software (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)Communicates effectively with peers and supervisors both verbally and in writingWillingness to work on-site at least 3 days a weekUS citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearanceAdditional Skills Desired

● The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $80,000.00 - $132,000.00 annually.For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
