What role you will play in our team


Reporting to the Engineering Leader, this position works with operations and maintenance teams to drive continuous improvement and reliability of the site instrumentation and low voltage electrical systems. The successful candidate will provide instrumentation and electrical engineering for Sarnia Site. The successful candidate will also provide leadership, technical expertise, and business perspective in all areas related to the plant's instrumentation and low voltage electrical systems. This position is responsible for equipment strategies, preventative maintenance programs and design improvements.

What you will do

 

Providing instrumentation support to the site Instrumentation Supervisor, I&E Planner and Technicians, this includes equipment start-up, trouble shooting and maintenance support  Identifying problems and developing solutions to maintain and improve operations  Planning, designing and execution of maintenance projects related to instrumentation and low voltage electrical.  Develop, maintain and continuously improve the preventative/predictive maintenance programs for the site instrumentation.  Regular interaction with engineering contractors, technicians, and operations  Participating in technical networks; develop/implement best practices

Skills and Qualifications

 

Minimum 2 years relevant Instrument and Electrical Engineering experience Preference for Electrical Engineering degree

 

Preferred Qualifications / Experience
 

Excellent communication skills, high levels of self-initiative, strong desire to acquire new knowledge and skills  Comfortable working in an industrial environment were working with heights and in confined spaces will be required occasionally  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills  Ability to interact and work in a team environment Computer proficient including applications for word processing, spreadsheets, databases and SAP  Valid driver's license and safe driving record are required
