Role description:

Arcadis is searching for a Junior Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Technologist to join its growing Water Facilities team. As a Junior I&C Technologist you will be participating in instrumentation and PLC control panel design for water and wastewater utilities including pumping stations, reservoirs and treatment facilities. As a member of the multidisciplinary design team, you will engage in the preliminary and detailed design of SCADA/I&C systems for new installations and upgrades to existing systems for water and waste utilities.

Role accountabilities:

Assist in the preparation of detail design drawings, specifications and cost estimates for I&C systems including: Instrumentation selection and installation design PLC control panel design Local area network design Wide area network design MCC equipment control schematic design Local area control panel design HVAC control system design Mechanical control system design Standby power systems including diesel generators Energy monitoring systems including CTs and power monitors Grounding systems Building services (lighting, security, fire, etc.) Participate in the development of Process Control Narratives, P&ID drawings, Operations and Maintenance Manuals and Training Manuals Assist in the preparation of control system design calculations during preliminary and detailed design Provide support during construction including responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, conducting site inspections, preparing and reviewing test/commissioning plans and participating in system testing Participate in the design of SCADA control systems with internal multidisciplinary teams, manufacturers/vendors and clients

Candidates should possess strong skills in the use of CAD systems, including AutoCAD and MicroStation, as well as excellent written and verbal communication abilities to effectively support design processes and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

The salary range for this position is $56,000-$84,000. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
