We are seeking a pragmatic, enthusiastic and hands-on Junior Lab Technician to join the STA Molecular Labs team at our R&D Innovation Center in Ghent, Belgium.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECTThe STA Molecular Labs team provides plant molecular diagnostics and genetics expertise throughout the Seeds & Traits organization. The laboratory group applies globally harmonized analytical and genomics approaches to deliver high quality and cost-effective support for all crop businesses (Breeding, Supply Chain, Trait Research, Trait Development, Regulatory and Stewardship).
STA Molecular Labs also maintains a global network of Certified Third Party Labs. Furthermore:
You will execute & organize technical protocols/analyses as directed. You will record, compile, summarize and report data according to company standards and report results to lab coordinators.You will evaluate the technical quality of data to expected results and troubleshoot when needed under supervision.You will contribute to workflow improvements.You will apply self-leadership: plan work independently and propose appropriate development actions.You will ensure use of implemented operating procedures, state-of-the-art equipment, computer, and data management systems and implement new SOP’s.WHAT YOU OFFER You have a bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or equivalent through relevant experience.You have at least 2 years of relevant successful experience.You have experience with molecular biology techniques and platforms.You are accurate and technically independent.You have a good knowledge and understanding of technical protocols.You have advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office) and specialized operational knowledge of relevant software, hardware and databases.You can self-organize, plan and report.You are a team player.You apply innovative thinking in process/efficiency improvement.You have effective communication skills, both verbal and written English.WHAT WE OFFER A permanent contract within an attractive working environment in a professional and motivated team.A role with challenging assignments and responsibilities.An attractive base salary in relation to your diploma and competencies, an annual bonus and extra-legal benefits.HOW TO REACH US
