BASF’s in-house legal function is looking for a student worker to join the BASF legal, compliance and insurance department comprising around 350 lawyers, compliance and insurance specialists across the globe, with responsibility for the Nordic and Baltic regions.
The position is based in our modern Copenhagen offices, close to the Central Station and with a lovely view overlooking the water.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECTYou will have a possibility to practice your skills in a variety of global, regional and local projects, and you will be an active participant in the Legal & Compliance service delivery across the Nordic & Baltic region. You will be reporting to and working closely with our Senior Legal Counsel & Compliance Officer Nordic/Baltic. Your main responsibilities will be to support:
• Legal advice to management and business on miscellaneous legal issues, incl. commercial, corporate, antitrust, compliance and governance issues.
• Legal advice and trainings to employees on national and international contract law, including contract drafting and negotiations, with special focus on miscellaneous collaboration agreements, including strategic partnering, R&D and supply agreements.
• Assist in drafting and reviewing legal documents, such as contracts, agreements, and internal policies.
• Support with Corporate housekeeping and compliance case handling.
• Develop guidelines and tools for the organization related to legal and compliance issues.
• Conduct legal research on various laws and regulations relevant to BASF’s operations.
• Ideally, you study law and are in your last year of the B.Sc. or the first year of your M.Sc. program, and have completed the first part of your studies as one of the best in your class.
• You have a strong interest in at least one of the following areas: contract law, corporate law, M&A, intellectual property rights, real estate/construction law, competition law/antitrust or compliance; but would also be eager to learn more and test yourself in a challenging environment.
• Excellent legal skills and high integrity, coupled with strong problem-solving skills and a business acumen.
• You are structured and take ownership of assigned tasks. We are seeking a proactive team player with initiative and drive, who enjoys building relationships with colleagues from various functions of a global company and engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
• You have experience from previous student job(s) or internships.
• Excellent communication skills in English are required, but knowledge and fluency in any Nordic or Baltic language would also be considered as a valuable asset.
• We expect you to be open-minded, flexible and culturally agile.
