Junior Legal Counsel

We are looking for a highly motivated in-house lawyer to join our legal team in our Mexico City office. This role will report directly to the Head of Legal for Mexico.

In this position, you will provide comprehensive legal advice across a diverse range of commercial, corporate, and regulatory issues that pertain to WeWork's operations in the country. Your contributions will be vital in helping to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations while supporting our business objectives.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts, including agreements with suppliers of goods and services, lease agreements, software/IT contracts, partnership agreements, and confidentiality agreements, while providing consistent legal advice to WeWork teams.

Advising on and coordinating corporate governance matters by drafting and reviewing corporate bylaws, board meeting minutes, and shareholders’ meeting minutes, as well as overseeing the registration of relevant public deeds for WeWork entities with the appropriate authorities.

Providing counsel on labor, regulatory, and litigation matters, including managing litigation processes in collaboration with external legal counsel.

Reviewing and coordinating the creation and execution of powers of attorney.

Drafting, negotiating, and advising on membership agreements entered into by WeWork with its members.

Offering general legal support to internal teams across various departments, including finance, sales, community, human resources, operations, real estate, and technology, addressing a diverse array of legal issues.

Conducting thorough reviews and analyses of the regulatory impact of products and services, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations while identifying potential legal risks.

Assisting with various administrative tasks within the legal department, such as organizing case files, reviewing invoices, and actively contributing to the enhancement of workflows and processes to promote team efficiency.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

A completed higher education degree in Law.

Valid license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.

Minimum 2 years of experience post-graduation in a law firm and/or multinational corporation. All relevant working experience will be considered.

Advanced proficiency in English, both written and verbal.

Experience in commercial, corporate, and regulatory law is required.

Exceptional writing and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and text interpretation.

Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and manage multiple tasks under pressure, consistently meeting deadlines.

Proficient in various software applications, including Excel, Word, PP, and other relevant tools.

Strong research skills and familiarity with legal databases and resources.

Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying issues and providing solutions.
