SICS (Software Infrastructure and Computer Systems) is looking for a Linux Security Engineer to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working hands-on with Linux systems and extending security knowledge.
Role and responsibilitiesAs a Linux Security Engineer, you will securing Linux-based systems, focusing on the critical infrastructure and software powering our products. You’ll not only play a pivotal role in securing our systems but also fostering a collaborative and high-performance security culture.
What Are Your Key Responsibilities?
Securing Linux Systems: Identify, assess, and address security risks in Linux environments, ensuring our systems remain safe and stable.
Apply Security Standards: Implement and enforce security policies and best practices, helping shape the overall security posture of our Linux environments.
Cryptography & Authentication: Design and implement of security protocols, including encryption and authentication, to protect sensitive data.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with development teams to integrate security throughout the software lifecycle.
What You Will Do?
As Linux Security Engineer, you ‘ll:
Security Design & Strategy: Design and implementation of secure technologies (e.g., Identity and Access Management), enhancing the security architecture.
Linux & Virtualization Expertise: Leverage your experience with Linux, containerization (Kubernetes, Podman), and virtualization (Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization) to streamline processes and enhance security.
Software Development: Write and maintain embedded software (C/C++), with a focus on integrating robust security features.
Automation & Scripting: Use Python, Bash, and Ansible to automate the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Linux systems.
Codebase & Configuration Management: Manage and optimize large codebases and tools like GIT (GitHub Action) and Artifactory to improve the development pipeline.
Agile Environment: Collaborate within an Agile framework (Scrum/SAFe), using tools such as GIT, Jenkins, and Jira to ensure continuous delivery of secure solutions.
What You Bring?
Security Expertise: At least 2 years proven experience implementing security measures and managing vulnerabilities in large-scale Linux systems.
Linux Mastery: Good knowledge of Linux systems, including maintenance, upgrades, and scripting (RPM packaging, etc.).
Embedded Software Skills: Hands-on experience in C/C++ software development, especially focused on security integration.
Automation & Scripting: Good knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash) and automation tools (Ansible).
Hardware Familiarity: Knowledge about hardware architectures (x86, PPC, GPU) is a plus.
Agile Mindset: Comfort working in fast-paced, Agile environments
Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
