Context
Global Business Operations (GBO) aim to leverage Diageo’s Operating Model by supporting standard processes and systems with effective and efficient shared services across Diageo and is responsible for Financial Control, Supplier Experience, End to End Commercial, HR and Master Data experience. It also encompasses a significant part of the group’s Financial Planning, Reporting and Treasury activities (Accounting, Control and Performance). Shared Services locations include Budapest, Bangalore, Bogota, and Manila.
Master data experience area allows Diageo to onboard new Supplier, Customer, SKUs & Outlets and provide maintenance services to domains like Supplier, Customer, Commercial, People, Finance, Product, Supply and Anaplan including relevant master data maintenance to all the domains served by GBO.
Master Data Services team help business to make sure that these processes are as standardised, smooth and efficient as possible for markets and our Suppliers, Customers, and Sales feel personally accountable for our Service performance as a business and will make sure you have the right data, quality and compliance to support business insights and better decision to drive our Business performance including Compliance & Risk Assurance & Product Lifecycle Management.
Strategic and transformative thinking, bold leadership, strong stakeholder and people management, demonstrated leadership in change management, and leveraging innovation will be the primary levers for the delivery of a sustained outstanding contribution to the Business.
Market Complexity
+ The role will have **indirect accountability** to inspire the broader Supplier experience are of 400+ team members to derive data insights.
+ The role would entail responsibility for the step change, standardisation and process harmonisation of processes across GBO served countries.
Key Stakeholders include:
+ GBO Cross functional Experience Areas (Finance, Commercial, Master Data, Commercial etc..)
+ Internal Supplier experience area team
+ D&T team

The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership capabilities by effectively managing cross-functional teams, driving data analytics and insights. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including technical teams, business users, and project sponsors.

The primary purpose is to:

+ Connecting the dots across various datasets,
+ Driving the ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and
+ Supporting data-driven decision-making across the organisation

Top Accountabilities
**Data Analysis and Insights:**
+ Analyse complex datasets to extract meaningful insights
+ Translate data findings into actionable recommendations
+ Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key metrics and performance indicators
**Connecting the Dots:**
+ Identify patterns and trends across different datasets
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and provide relevant insights
+ Bridge gaps between data silos to ensure a holistic view of business performance
**ETL Processes:**
+ Design, develop, and maintain ETL workflows
+ Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and efficiency of data extraction, transformation, and loading processes
+ Optimize ETL processes to handle large volumes of data efficiently
**Data Quality and Governance:**
+ Implement and enforce data quality standards and best practices
+ Monitor and troubleshoot data issues to ensure high data integrity
+ Document ETL processes, data sources, and data flows
**Collaboration and Communication:**
+ Work closely with internal KPI team and key business stakeholders
+ Present data insights and recommendations to non-technical audiences
+ Support data-driven projects and initiatives
Qualifications and Experience Required
**Qualification:**
Bachelor’s degree in data science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus
**Work experience & skills:**
+ 5+ years of professional experience in data insights and data science.
+ Proven experience in data analysis, ETL processes, and data visualisation
+ Knowledge of machine learning and statistical modelling techniques
+ Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, Alteryx, Dataiku and ETL tools.
+ Familiarity with data visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau) or similar
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Power Platform is must
+ Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Barriers to Success in Role
+ Limited experience or proficiency in SQL, Python, Alteryx, Dataiku, SAP and/or ETL tools.
+ Poor communication skills and inability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
+ Inability to take ownership and be accountable for project outcomes.
+ Resistance to change and inability to adapt to evolving data analytics technologies and methodologies.
