Position Overview
We are currently seeking a Junior Network Engineer to support the U.S. Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) and the Regional Network Enterprise Center for the National Capital Region (RNEC-NCR). This role requires a minimum of 1-3 years of experience and an active Secret Clearance.\n

Qualifications:\n\nCertifications: Must possess an active CCNA Routing and Switching certification and an IAT-II level certification such as Security+ CE. Higher-level IAT-II certifications, such as CCNA Security, will also fulfill this requirement.\nExperience: 1-3 years of relevant network engineering experience.\nEducation: A Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience and certifications will also be considered.\nSecurity Clearance: Must have an active Secret Clearance.\n\n

Essential Functions:\n\nPerform various network engineering tasks, including designing, implementing, testing, and troubleshooting the RNEC-NCR network infrastructure, including the Installation Campus Area Network (ICAN).\nRespond to AESMP ticket submissions, addressing critical and VIP tickets within two hours of notification by the appropriate Government authority.\nSupport network operations, including the installation of hardware, operating systems, and software applications, ensuring compliance with Information Assurance (IA) security requirements.\nMaintain and manage the ICAN, including LAN, WAN, SONET, and related equipment, on a 24\/7 on-call basis.\nConfigure and support the use of DoD Common Access Card (CAC) and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) for user authentication, network access, and secure communications.\nComplete equipment installations, movements, additions, and changes to maintain the network ICAN infrastructure, including hubs, routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and more.\nSupport NIPRNET Internet and web access, establish communication links, maintain configuration management, and implement security measures such as installing antivirus software and security patches.\nImplement Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and other secure methods of data transmission, including support for VPNs, VPN servers, Citrix, and SQL servers.\n\n

Competencies:\n\nStrong oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with Network Engineers, government customers, and senior government officials.\nIn-depth knowledge of the communication networks and systems used by the customer is preferred.\n\n

Position Type\/Expected Hours of Work:\n\nFull-time position.\nTypical work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, with on-call availability for 24\/7 support.\n\n

Additional Requirements:\n\nAbility to climb ladders, pull cables, and maintain\/dress cabling and equipment in datacenter racks.\n\n
