Junior PLM Support Engineer

A great opportunity has become available for an experienced PLM Support Engineer to join our team. The Application Administrator (PLM) will be a team player, supporting the Engineering Environment Team and providing support to Hardware Engineering teams, managers and engineers managing their hardware designs in the PTC Windchill tools (known as Product Lifecycle Management – PLM). 

This is an entry level role that would suit a graduate or early career application administrator, or for someone looking for an opportunity to reskill into Windchill and Hardware Configuration Management (we are open to more flexible working hours for the right candidate).

KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES                                               

As an Application Administrator (PLM), you are accountable for:

Ensuring that our operational Windchill servers are supported as mission critical systems to support our hardware engineering teams.Play a key role in the evolution and improvement of our Windchill environment as part of the global Project LEWIS to deploy the next generation of engineering tools into Thales.Support our engineering teams to effectively use the Windchill tools across Thales Australia, both for new projects and existing projects.Supported by our Mechanical Engineering Coach, be willing to learn new techniques and practices with a Kaizen spirit of continuous improvement across Thales Australia.

KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE                                                         

To be successful in your role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following knowledge and experience:

You have experience with Application Administration in an enterprise environment (Mechanical product line management tools highly regarded)

Basic Systems administration skills across VMWare, Windows, LinuxLinux and Windows operating systems systems administrationAutomation / DevSecOps to build, deploy and maintain operating systems and applicationsNetworking (TCP/IP, firewalls, Web technology)Security tools and approachesKnowledge and experience in the Mechanical engineering discipline and tooling would be highly regarded.Bachelor of Information Technology Degree or equivalent.Excellent written and oral communication skills.

This role will involve dealing with design and manufacture of weapons and may require specific permits and licensing from state governments.
