Junior Product Owner
This role requires 4 days per week in office in Atlanta About the role + The junior product owner will support product design and development efforts for global strategic platforms supporting the underwriting process for commercial property and specialty lines. + Work closely with the product owner to manage the product roadmap and backlog, write and refine user stories and requirements, manage user feedback and engagement, and coordinate UAT to validate enhancements before release. + Tasks/Deliverables: + Backlog management: maintain, refine, and prioritize user stories in Rally, working closely with IT BA team when appropriate for technical specifications + Requirements Gathering: organize and participate in meetings with business stakeholders to understand needs and document in detail + Sprint Participation: attend backlog refinement and PO sync meetings with development team, review and provide feedback on demos, wireframes, or other artifacts as needed. + UAT Coordination: organize UAT sessions, collect feedback, and work with development team to triage defects + User Engagement: collect and organize feedback from the end user community to be fed into the product backlog; organize and facilitate regular meetings with regional Power User groups + Stakeholder Communication: update user guides, release notes, and platform SharePoint pages; coordinate with change management team to present new product features or relevant topics Must-Have Qualifications + Minimum of 2+ years of experience in product management or business analysis in a data-driven environment such as insurance or financial services + Should be at least familiar with agile methodologies and related tools such as Rally or JIRA + Experience documenting user stories and acceptance criteria into detailed user stories + Experience or ability to manage a product backlog and work with development teams to prioritize + Basic understanding of system/data integrations, comfortable in an environment with a technical focus in addition to process/operations + Clear and concise written communication skills. Able to work with underwriters, actuaries, engineers, and other specialists to understand and translate needs into product features + Nice-to-Have Qualifications + Experience in a P&C insurance environment and general understanding of the general underwriting lifecycle + Experience with policy administration platforms (Guidewire, Duck Creek, Majesco, Insurity, etc.) + Experience with catastrophe modeling platforms/providers (RMS, AIR, KatRisk, CoreLogic, etc.) + Understanding of location/spatial intelligence or analysis + Agile certification (CSPO, PMI-ACP, SAFe Agilist, etc.) + Strong presentation skills, experience facilitating meetings, delivering presentations, and conducting demos of features and systems + Experience coordinating UAT or managing power user communities #LI-CY1 At AIG, we value in-person collaboration as a vital part of our culture, which is why we ask our team members to be primarily in the office.
