Junior QA Engineer
Pay Range: €30,250 - €37,750


 

The successful candidate will join a new department that is focused on delivering quality experiences for Johnson Matthey’s end users. You will work alongside delivery leads, software and cloud engineers and developers, UX designers and architects. You will help deliver in-house developed applications, enabling platforms, enterprise, and manufacturing system changes.

A new role within Johnson Matthey’s IT Engineering team, the successful candidate will report to the QA + Test Manager, and work alongside colleagues in Delivery and Engineering.

You will be an essential part of our quality engineering team, supporting the development and execution of tests to ensure the quality and performance of our software products. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals who are beginning their careers in quality assurance and are eager to learn and grow in a supportive and innovative environment. You will work closely with senior team members to gain valuable experience and develop your skills in software testing and quality assurance.

Your responsibilities:

·         Assist in the execution of manual and automated tests to ensure the quality and functionality of software products.

·         Develop and maintain test cases and test scripts based on product requirements and specifications under the guidance of senior engineers.

·         Identify, document, and track defects using our defect tracking system.

·         Collaborate with development teams to reproduce issues and verify fixes.

·         Support the development and maintenance of automated test scripts.

·         Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand product requirements and provide input on quality issues.

·         Participate in meetings, providing updates on testing progress and quality metrics.

·         Maintain documentation of test cases, test results, and defects whilst taking on feedback from senior members of the team.

·         Assist in preparing and presenting test reports and quality metrics to stakeholders.

·         Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in quality assurance.

·         Contribute ideas and suggestions to enhance the quality assurance processes and tools. 

Requirements for the role:

• At least 1+ year of QA / Testing experience.

•  Familiarity of automated tools or frameworks (like Selenium, Playwright, Cypress).

•  Basic knowledge of manual testing techniques and methodologies.

•  Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality in all deliverables.

•  Strong analytical skills to identify potential quality issues.

•  Ability to troubleshoot and reproduce defects effectively.

How you will be rewarded:

Salary range for this role starting from 30,250 to 37,750 EUR per annum (gross) depending on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies. This role is also eligible to receive discretionary annual bonus that align with individual and company performance.
