Job Description:

GliaCell is seeking a Junior Software Engineer on one of our subcontracts. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to support a U.S. Government customer. The mission is to provide technical expertise that assists in sustaining critical mission-related software and systems to a large government contract.

Position Description:

This role will be on a fast-moving software engineering team supporting a microservice ecosystem with several UIs. Project management is done using feature driven development. The team is highly collaborative, and engineers are encouraged to help drive system design. The candidate will be working with mission very closely and interacting with customers daily.

Responsibilities: 

Develop and maintain Java microservice web applications. Work closely with tech lead on technical decisions and product roadmap. Resolve challenging software engineering design problems. Interact with the customer to resolve issues and propose new features.Support testing and deployment of production applications. 

Key Requirements:

To be considered for this position you must have the following:

Possess an active or rein-statable TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.U.S. Citizenship.The candidate shall have 3 or more years of experience and a B.S. degree in a technical discipline, or 4 additional years in place of a B.S.  Other qualifications include:Works well independently as well as on a team. Strong communication skills. 

Required Skills:

Experience with design, debugging, and problem solving with Java.Experience with RESTful web applications.Experience with Spring Boot.Experience interacting with MongoDB or similar database technology.Experience with Automated testing. 

Desired Skills: ​​​​​​

Full stack experience including UI development with JavaScript (Vue.js).Experience with Kafka. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience with Linux administration. Experience with automated build tools, continuous integration, and continuous deployment. 

Location: Columbia, MD 

Salary Range: The salary range for this full-time position is $50,000 to $120,000. Our salary ranges are determined by position, level, skills, professional experience, relevant education and certifications. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for this position across our projects. Within the range, your salary is determined by your individual benefits package selection. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred position during the hiring process.
