Junior Staff Accountant

Pacifica Hotels is looking for a Junior Staff Accountant to join the team at our Home Office in Aliso Viejo, CA! The Junior Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing journal entries, detailed reports and account reconciliations.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to:

Work with the Accounting Manager to ensure a clean and timely monthly, quarterly, and yearly financials. Record daily financial transactions, including journal entries and adjustments. Support in reconciling bank accounts, credit card transactions, and other financial accounts. Maintain accurate general ledger records and ensure proper classification of expenses. Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and relevant regulations. Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation. Collaborates with the other finance department managers to support overall department goals and objectives. Collaborate with hotel accounting teams to ensure financial accuracy across multiple properties. Responds to inquiries from the Director of Finance, Controller, Accounting Manager, and other finance and managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like. Assist with tracking hotel revenue, occupancy reports, and operational expenses. Responds to inquiries from the Director of Finance, Controller, Accounting Manager, and other finance and managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like. Prepare and post journal entries for multi-entity transactions. Prepare and analyze account reconciliations. Support Accounting Manager with special projects.

 

Supervisory Responsibility: None

Independent Judgment Used: Frequently within the guidelines established by management and to the extent of operating within Pacifica Hotel Company policies and procedures.

Working Conditions/Environment: Office Environment

Qualifications:  BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.  One to two years prior experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area. Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast -paced setting. Experience with NetSuite is a plus. Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.

Physical Requirements: Occasionally lift of boxes of files weighing up to 20 lbs. Occasional filing. Occasional trips to properties for meetings.

Pay Range: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
