New vacancy: Supplier Quality Engineer

We are looking for an enthusiastic Supplier Quality Engineer for our Procurement / Supplier Quality (SAT) department of Fokker Landing Gear in Papendrecht. As a member of the team of Manufacturing Engineering SAT (Supplier Account Team), you work among a diverse and multicultural group of 10 Engineers of 9 different nationalities, working on exciting programs with mentorship and growth opportunities.

As Supplier Quality Engineer, you monitor the quality performance of suppliers and initiate actions depending on the cause of any problem (such as assessments, problem solving activities, etc.) to secure continuous compliance. In addition, you manage the issues related to the supplier's quality performance, you serve as the liaison for suppliers, you challenge and facilitate the suppliers on the structural quality, and process improvements.

Fokker Landing Gear is part of GKN Aerospace, the world’s leading multi-technology tier 1 aerospace supplier. Fokker Landing Gear has around 350 FTE and is designs, develops produces, assemblies and maintenance complete landing gear systems. We supply our products to leading aerospace companies and our products are used in the Apache helicopter, F-35 Lightning II (JSF), Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 and the multipurpose NH90 helicopter.

What you'll do Have frequent contact with suppliers to monitor actions within Quality.  Analyze and report suppliers' quality performance and identify improvement areas.  Communicate and review supplier non-conformance and escapes, including timely execution of root cause investigation, containment and corrective/preventive actions; participate in 8D investigations.  Lead and participate in internal meetings in case of suppliers' process non-conformance.  Manage implementation of risk mitigation activities and process control systems at supplier, to prevent non-conformance. Support in supplier feedback.  Define and propose improvements to the business management system in order to improve the Supplier Quality organization within GKN Aerospace; share best practices between your global SQE colleagues.  What you'll bring Experience in engineering / production, preferably in working with suppliers in a manufacturing environment, Technical degree in a relevant field, e.g. Manufacturing / Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering, Knowledge of machining processes of hard steel and high precision products; experience in aerospace manufacturing is an advantage (i.e. AS9100), Skilled in quality systems, tools and methods (root cause analysis, 8D, etc.), keen on continuous improvement topics, Good command of English in speech and writing, Analytical, structured and well-organized, Able to work effectively and efficiently, can -do and will-do attitude, Able to work independently, doesn't shy away from going that extra mile and with initiative, Experience with ERP systems would be appreciated, Familiarity with head treatment, surface treatment of metals would be considered an advantage,  Experience / knowledge of manufacturing hydraulic parts and sensor components would be considered a plus, Residence in the Netherlands.

A gross monthly salary between € 3.384,- and € 5.399,- (junior/mid-level) based on the CLA Metalektro and in line with your experience and qualifications,
