Junior Systems Administrator

Summary: The Junior Systems Administrator will provide support to the Navy Medicine Operational Training Command (NMOTC). The NMOTC Information Management and Technology Department IT Service Area activities are performed in close cooperation and coordination with, but not limited to: Application Integration and Business Intelligence Support, Desktop Support Services, IT Operations, Customer Portfolio Management and Cyber Support Services. Services are typically accomplished through integrated product or project teams, comprised of Government and Contractor personnel. The NMOTC Information Management and Technology Department and the associated IT Enterprise provides services to over 100,000 end-users world-wide to include 1,300 unique operational medicine program owners across Navy Medicine, individual projects, laboratories, and other Fleet and Fleet Marine Force medical organizations. Responsibilities Essential Job Functions: Provide in-person and/or remote technical support to NMOTC staff and students during core business hours and classroom training. Issue and recover hardware for staff and students, including documentation of equipment custody. Create, update, and maintain baseline image for all desktop/laptops. Remote location maintenance and management of wireless networks. Maintain, update, and configure Windows server to support Navy Medicine students, imaging installation procedures, and wireless management software. Maintain site digital information displays and touch screen kiosks. Install and replace ethernet cabling and wall jacks as needed. Configure, maintain, and update print servers, DHCP and Active Directory as needed. Consolidate IT equipment, record DRMO entries and stage assets for disposition. Create, maintain, and update various customized MS Access applications. Create, maintain, update, utilize and share Powershell scripts. Provision and deprovision staff and student email accounts. Manage onboarding documents to include SAAR, NDA, and VPN requests. Work with host markets for network support, switch management, and data mining support. Actively share information with other DHA administrators and other IT staff team members throughout NMOTC enterprise. Ensure incident response time is less than 30 min to assess the issue, less than 8 hours to contact staff member for resolution and ensure all reporting is successfully completed and documented in Service Now in the ticket notes section. Coordinate site contingency planning to ensure successful failover capability. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Necessary Skills and Knowledge: Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a keen attention to detail. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and coordinate with cross-functional teams, including cybersecurity professionals and Technical Support personnel. Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, vulnerabilities, and best practices. Minimum Qualifications: Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and Tenable ACAS (Assured Compliance Assessment Solution) modules. Must be a US citizen. Must have and ability to maintain a Top-Secret clearance. Preferred Qualifications: Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar. Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
